Family Medicine & Obstetrics
Family Medicine provides continuing and comprehensive health care for the individual and entire family. Family Medicine physicians may also include obstetrics as a part of their practice. Obstetrics is the health science that provides care for women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the recuperative period following delivery. Integrating the biological, clinical, and behavioral sciences, family medicine encompasses all ages, both male and female, each organ system, and every disease entity. Family medicine physicians provide both health maintenance and preventive services to each member of the family. After completing medical school, physicians complete an internship and residency training program in Family Medicine. These specialists, because of their training and interaction with the family, are qualified and available to serve as each patient’s advocate in all health related matters. Our family medicine and obstetrics physician is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
