Family Medicine & Women’s Health
Family medicine provides continuing and comprehensive health care for the individual and entire family. Integrating the biological, clinical, and behavioral sciences, family medicine encompasses all ages, both male and female, each organ system, and every disease entity. Family medicine physicians and physician assistants provide both health maintenance and preventive services to each member of the family. An important focus of their practice is providing comprehensive women’s health care, including preventive and well woman exams. After completing medical school, physicians complete an internship and residency training program in Family Medicine. Physician assistants receive a master’s degree in physician assistant studies following completion of their undergraduate program. These specialists, because of their training and interaction with the family, are qualified and available to serve as each patient’s advocate in all health related matters. Our family medicine physicians are board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and our family medicine physician assistants are board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
