Welcome to Pediatrics Reception and Scheduling!

Often times when you call our Pediatric Department to schedule or check in for an appointment you will speak to our primary Receptionist, Jamie.  She’s always ready to greet you with a smile in the most genuine, heartfelt way.  Her goal is to help you take care of your child’s needs to the best of her ability and make sure they leave with stickers in hand.  Jamie takes being the “sticker lady” as seriously as your children do in picking them out.  Our other pediatric receptionists, Tess and Theresa, are equally committed to ensuring your family receives the care they need.

Our Pediatric Department has recently made wonderful improvements to the big fish tank, which is fun for the kids as well as parents, so be sure to see it when you step into the waiting room.  Kids’ movies are always playing there as well, so let the receptionist know if you have a special request and we’ll see if we have it.

Here are the hours for our Pediatric Reception services:

8:15 AM – Noon               Waiting room and phone lines are open for the day.

Noon – 1:30 PM               Waiting room and phone lines are closed.  Urgent calls during this time  are forwarded to the medical assistant on duty.

1:30 – 5:00 PM                  Waiting room and phone lines are open.

5:00 – 5:30 PM                  Urgent calls will be forwarded to the medical assistants on duty.

 After Hours

5:30 PM– 8:15 AM           All calls will be forwarded to the answering service who will contact  the pediatrician on call.

Please remember, our pediatric receptionists cannot give medical advice or take prescription requests, as we are not medically trained in these areas, but what we are really good at is answering appointment questions or directing your call to the person best able to assist you.

When you call to schedule an appointment for your child, we will sometimes ask a few question to ensure your appointment is properly scheduled and that you have enough time with your child’s doctor. We always encourage parents to call our office first when an illness or injury occurs as it is very likely your child will be able to see the doctor the same day!  Our pediatricians would much rather see your child in a setting they are familiar and comfortable with rather than refer them to a facility outside the Clinic.

Our pediatricians strongly encourage regular Well Child Checks be scheduled from age 2 weeks up to 18 years old. If you are unsure if your child needs this type of appointment or perhaps have missed their Well Child Check, please feel free to call and ask. We have an age appropriate schedule for these visits and will also let you know if they are due for any immunizations.  For these appointments, we ask you to check in 15 minutes early to complete the required paperwork needed by the doctor.   Well Child Checks can include measuring your child’s height, weight and vision, urinalysis screening for any areas of concern, and performing sports physicals if needed for your child’s school.

Our Pediatric Department now has the opportunity for your child to get a FREE dental screening right here in our clinic!  Your child will receive an assessment, cleaning, sealants, fluoride and a referral to a dentist if needed.  The on-site dental screening professionals can also offer advice and answer questions regarding your infant’s teething process.

We are always excited for our semi-annual SWAG (Student Wellness and Game) Night when our adolescent patients, ages 12 and older, can come to the Clinic from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM to visit with their doctor.  They receive their regular exam as well as mental health and dental screenings.  We make this a fun time just for them with snacks, games, prizes, and drawings!  A SWAG bag and music are offered while they’re waiting!

We have a great team in our Pediatrics Department, all waiting to help with your child’s appointments and health needs.
