Why Choose a Family Doctor for your OB and Well-Baby Care?
True or False – All family doctors are trained to provide prenatal care, deliver babies, and care for newborns and children. TRUE!
Family medicine residency training programs prepare graduates to care for patients of all ages including deliveries.
My name is Jeremy Hitchcock and I am currently in my 10th year of practice as a family physician. I completed my residency training program in family medicine at Southwest Washington Medical Center (now PeaceHealth) in Vancouver, WA. I spent nearly all of my elective time working with obstetricians, midwives, and labor and delivery nurses learning how to provide excellent care to growing families. I really love taking care of moms and newborns, and it is an extra special joy to deliver babies at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center. Working with moms and dads who are expecting gives me a huge amount of satisfaction as I get to walk with families through nine months of all the joys and trials of pregnancy and then witness a miracle on the “big day.” This is truly amazing stuff!
So why choose me as your family physician? As a board-certified family doctor, I am uniquely positioned to get to know your entire family and lend my expertise to ensure you are all healthy and well. I often see couples together or older siblings when a family is expecting. I value asking good questions and really listening to you as my patient. Understanding the big picture of your family helps me give you the best care possible. All of the prenatal visits will be with me and when it comes time to deliver, I will be there with you. In addition to helping you deliver your baby I can continue seeing your baby after he or she is born. I also provide full-scope family planning options including birth control and vasectomy.
My wife and I have four awesome kiddos and we love living in Grants Pass. Outside of work I enjoy hiking, reading, playing drums at church, and pushing around dirt on my tractor. If you are expecting or hoping to grow your family, please call Grants Pass Clinic and make an appointment with me today!
